Gardiners explore green technology

Hybrid Vehicle Technology Trial.

Gardiners are carrying out an extended trial of the latest hybrid vehicle technology in conjunction with our local Mitsubishi dealer. Whole life costs are being assessed along with the potential green energy use benefits to the environment.

In conjunction with solar PV provision at our head office the benefits would include reductions in energy consumption costs, fossil fuel usage and particulate emissions.

This type of vehicle would be suited to local maintenance contracts and city use, which maximise the ability to use the electric power. The adaptability of the hybrid power plant however makes the vehicle suitable for all journeys as the high efficiency petrol engine is utilised to charge the batteries or provide additional power on demand.
