Civil Engineering

Gardiners Civil Engineering Division specialise in water related contracts, be it for utility companies or those involved in canal and river work. We are proud to include British Waterways, the Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water amongst our clients. Along with other works, we are currently, involved in the Cotswold Canals Restoration, a major project, working for Stroud District Council and for their contractors.

A small selection of our Civil Engineering projects undertaken include:

• Restoration of bridges over canals.
• Repair and refurbishment of brickworks around locks.
• Digging of trial holes to locate services and old lock positions.
• Dredging and grading of canal banks.
• Habitat protection
• Installation of mooring posts and buffer rails for barges
• Clearing of a culvert in confined conditions
• Associated reinstatement work.
