Canal Lock Restoration

Gardiners were contracted at short notice to provide bricklayers to carry out restoration works at Soulbury Three Locks on the Grand Union Canal near the village of Stoke Hammond. During repair works and upon de-watering the locks’ brickwork was found to be in a poor state of repair. In order to meet the re-opening deadline, Gardiners were asked at short notice to provide skilled bricklayers to carry out the necessary repairs.

Damaged sections were removed and re-using the existing bricks, rebuilt carefully including the canal lock walls, quadrants and access ramps and steps. Fencing was also renewed and painted.
